Founder’s Story
The world doesn’t need another agency.
When I was 18 years old, I started a business running basketball camps purely because it was what I loved to do. While some admired the passion driven approach, I got a lot of “You need to get a real job.”
So, I did, working in sales at a large publicly traded company. From there, I would climb the corporate ladder, eventually running global ecommerce at a top US-based agency.
Working with brands from all over the globe, I met with people that were trying to change the world and found energy in their “can do” spirit and unwavering ambition. I watched as companies I helped got bought, friends appeared on Shark Tank, and community events took place as a result of these businesses’ success.
I was moved by their impact.
When you’re so ingrained in the daily grind of agency work, it was natural that my most recent entrepreneurial inclination was to start an agency.
But when I broke it down, I kept going back to this central theme, which has been the red thread of my career, and that’s “growth.”
Agencies and brands have paid me to change their thinking, streamline their approaches, and manage relationships. Through it all, though, they’ve paid me to drive growth.
My “aha moment” came (on a flight home from Amsterdam, hence the photos below) when I realized that I didn’t need to necessarily create a new mouse trap. Instead, I needed to really think about the agencies, brokers, software tools, and other resources that I’ve used, demoed, and recommended over the years. Next, I needed to put myself on the brand side and ask, “What does the dream team, tech stack, and service partner solution look like?” Last, I needed to get outside of myself and lean on the brilliant network of people that I’ve been fortunate to connect with over the years.
In the end, I realized that “re-inventing” good things might serve me, but it doesn’t serve you. Hence, Copia Club was created as a one-stop-shop for brands to drive growth across all departments. The Club is comprised of solution providers that have been vetted by our Brand Advisory Board to be exceptional at what they do.
The final product, then, is the result of thousands of hours of meetings, demos, and testing to arrive right here: a hub for those that want more out of their businesses.
My goal is to bring new ideas to this ecosystem, to help executives weigh risk and reward, and to create a place where agencies, brands, and tech can intersect in meaningful ways.
I’m excited to be your growth partner and to steward this community. Most importantly, I’m excited to do so in a way that’s transparent, strategic, and reflective of my very best effort.
